He was born in 1954 in Guyama Puerto Rico, and moved to the
Buffalo, NY in 1964 with his parents when he was 10 years old. He has only been back to Puerto Rico once since he moved to New York. He occasionally cooks traditional Puerto Rican meals, but majority of his diet has become Americanized. Jose does his own grocery shopping and chooses food for convenience. His meals consist of a simple breakfast (always with coffee),
a quick and easy lunch (fast food once or twice a week), and dinner which he cooks
at home and is his biggest and most calorie dense meal.
